Detailed Itinerary
Your 7-Day Adventure
Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport where you’ll be met by our representative. Transfer to Arusha town (approximately 45 minutes) for overnight at your hotel. This evening you can relax and prepare for your safari adventure beginning tomorrow.
Day 2: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park, Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife area at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. Famous for its tree-climbing lions, the park features a shallow soda lake scattered with acacia trees. Enjoy a full day of game viewing in this compact but diverse park.
Day 3: Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park
Drive through the Ngorongoro Highlands with spectacular crater views en route to the endless plains of the Serengeti. Option to visit a Maasai village (additional cost). Arrive in the Serengeti, famous for the Great Migration and excellent chances to see the Big Five. Enjoy afternoon game viewing in this iconic wilderness.
Day 4: Full Day in Serengeti National Park
Early morning game drive in Seronera area to catch predators at their most active. Visit the Serengeti Visitor Center to learn about the ecosystem. Continue game viewing in central Serengeti, home to resident wildlife including hippos, lions and leopards. The Serengeti’s vast plains offer unparalleled wildlife viewing opportunities.
Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Early morning game drive in Seronera before departing for Ngorongoro. Option to visit Olduvai Gorge, the “Cradle of Mankind” (additional cost). Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and natural wonder teeming with wildlife. Enjoy game viewing in this unique ecosystem before ascending to your lodge on the crater rim.
Day 6: Ngorongoro to Tarangire National Park
Drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and baobab trees. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in this beautiful park, with chances to see lions, elephants, wildebeest, zebras and giraffes. Tarangire is particularly spectacular in dry season when animals congregate around the Tarangire River.
Day 7: Arusha to Kilimanjaro Airport
Enjoy a morning game drive in Arusha National Park or cultural tour around Arusha town (depending on flight schedule). Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your outbound flight, taking with you unforgettable memories of Tanzania’s incredible wildlife and landscapes.
